I have 3 CD drives all capable of > 20x DAE (in windows). However both cdparanoia and cdda2wav won't run any higher than 8-10x when ripping from them.

Is there any way?

xcdda2wav works at about 30x for me. You can find it at http://linux.tucows.com/mmedia/preview/47079.html
Also, there is a newer version called xmultigrab, but I don't use it. http://linux.tucows.com/mmedia/preview/59071.html

Where do you see the 30x rates? There's no indication how fast it rips.

cdda2wav doesn't seem to like my Ultraplex 40.

Any more?
