I installed some new packages onto my linux system and now when i boot up i see:
linux
old_linux
old_linux-nofb
linux-nofb
etc..
How do i get rid of this?

What distribution and where exactly do you see this? In the boot menu? LILO? Or what? Please be more specific.

If that's your lilo menu, open up /etc/lilo.conf and comment out any of the kernels you don't need to boot, save the modified conf, and run lilo -v as root.
