About a week ago, i was on this german website (translated by google) and there was a message that talked about how terrorists use linux on their computers! I dont know how true it is, but it seems possible. Saddam doesn't have a Mac and i dont think Windows comes with Iraqi or Afghani language support. We know that they use computers because we have captured some of them. On CNN about 2 months ago, you may of seen this picture of some of the Taliban's computers. It was very obvious (because the monitor was on) that they used linux. It looked like KDE, but it may have been GNOME or some desktop manager in BSD. Do you think that they use Linux? Do you think that they made their emails and got their information on possible attack locations from a linux computer? Dont get me wrong, I love linux and will always will! ...Perhaps if my sound card worked. Do you think Linux has helped terrorists in ther attacks? :o

I look at it this way, Linux is a tool, the same as a hammer, or a saw.

Just because a terrorist uses a hammer, doesn't mean that you are going to be afraid of using a hammer now are you? Or how about a terrorist using a condom? :p

Sorry, that just came to mind and I couldn't resist.

superlinuxguru : I'm 99.9% sure that there are afghanistanian fonts for windows ... it's not very big problem in making them ...

maybe they just prefer linux b/c it's more stable? or that they could hide information better ...

and I don't see nothing bad in that

And another thing, what else were they going to use...Windows? Mac OS? Both symbols of capitalist America...

It seems that they would be more prone to use "symbols of American capitalism" since that was at least part of the message sent by using "our" schools, "our" planes, "our" cell phone infrastructure, etc. against "us". Demonstrating how microcosmic events can catastrophically effect the macrostructure is part of the ironic message against global capitalism and globalism in general.

They could have just as easily used Windows or Mac (okay maybe not so easy Mac 'cuz they'd hafta buy one - hardware and all and I'm not sure how much they sell outside of the US). It doesn't matter what OS they used... they're equivalent in this sense. How about that they used a computer at all? I just hope that ppl don't start blaming *nix for being accessible to terrorists. Sh*t, they got guns too, don't they? That's the bigger problem (although they didn't need guns to hijack the planes, mostly knives I believe). It's like that quote: "Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people." Amen to that.

Yes, I think we need to ban Linux. Terrorists are using it. And children have easy access to it. We need regulations on Linux. Linux is bad. Linux kills. Think of the children. If there was no Linux, terrorists would have one less tool to kill people with. Save the children.....BAN LINUX !!!!! :p :p :p

Yeah just as Corn Flakes has helped them in their attack. They ate it every morning, and the corn made themstrong. Because of this healthy diet they were able to actually fly a plane and learn all about it. I heard a picture of the Twin Towers on the back of a package of serial actual gave 'em the idea.

Come on, man!!

knute said it better than me.

It's people who are finding excuses to place blame for something that happens not the way they want it.
