as far as I can tell, all the free ISP's are bein' shot down one by one.

I got tired of the game and got a cable modem. And Im more than happy to shell out the $39.95 a month just for the peace of mind of knowing that this ISP aint goin nowhere.

..or at least it better not!! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/mad.gif http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

yeah, that's what i did... but this guy has no option... he's like 14, so his parents won't let him change isp's... and they don't have cable/dsl out where he lives...

Do a search on lno. I read somewhere that you could sign up with one and then use someone elses DNS#s to get on. I think it was netzero and msn BUT I wont swear to that at all.

Well.....
NetZero for Linux is finally out, check out the main site.

However......

Clever users of Linux will do a search on an engine for the Blue Collor Hax0Rz group, and the subsequent easy Kppp dialin for Netzero that they have. In DOS, its known as DUNencrypt.

Good luck

I got a netzero user/pass that doesnt require the banners and whatnot, uses standard dial up.

Gents:

Have a look at your LOCAL ISP_providers ...
I'm in Spokane, Wa & just paid $85/year for 360 hr/mo dialup + 10Mb ...that's damnclose ta unlimited, damnclose ta free.

And they knew what PAP_secrets were which in my experience is more than some BigBoys do ...

I use Free Internet (freei) for my ISP. Under windoz, I have a banner on the top of my monitor. I did a winipcfg and got the dns numbers. Put all this info into KPPP and had no problems.
I know that Freei has been bought out by Net Zero. Not sure how that will change things here in the near future.
