1. In Debian, how do you install apmd and set it up to give you battery status at the cli and in X? (Using GNOME 1.2)
2. At the CLI, how do you find out the free space on your disk?

1/ apt-get install apmd ... but you need apm support in the kernel. But I don't know how to get teh abttery level (I never looked into this as I have a desktop)
