I just installed Suse 7.1 off of their ftp site. I already had Win 2k on my machine. My 30 gig disk is partitioned in the following manner (same order):

50 meg /boot partition with LiLo.
14.5 gig Win 2k partition (NTFS)
256 meg Linux Swap
14.2 gig Linux root partition.

At this time LiLo does not see Win. 2k, so I can only boot "linux" and "linux24" and "memtest86".

Also, I have no idea what to do now that I have a command line. How do I get GNome running? I want WindowMaker!

Thanks in advance.

You have to edit /etc/lilo.conf in order to make sure that the Win2K partition is recognized. After you edit the file properly (which you'll have to find a FAQ for...probably on this site) then save the changed file, and type 'lilo' at the prompt in order to apply the new changes.

Hope that helps you.

Ok, so I edited the Lilo file.

It states that hda2, where Windows 2k resides, passes the 1024 cylinder. I guess it's partially right. The VERY end of the partition lies on the 1900th cylinder, but it starts at around cylinder 50. What should I do?

I'm not sure about other OS's but linux might booted in this case by adding a line "lba32" to your lilo.conf. Perhaps this also helps with NT2000.
