How do I do it? I have mandrake 8 and I can not get any Mpg, mpeg to play at all. I have used two differnt played kde player and xmms with the video plugin and Iv'e installed every package that had the words mpeg in it. all the players will do is just crash. does anyone know how I can set this up please? thankyou.

I can suggest one more app to try, if you haven't, probably have to download it. I like mtv/mtvp to play mpgs.

Thanks, I downloaded mtv but it kinda sucks that the sound only plays for 30 seconds heh, I'll try that other one to and see if how good it is to.. thanks guys :)

I'm also using mandrake 8 and I had no problems playing mpegs in xmms, it was automatically setup to do so using the smpeg plugin. I also have it playing avi's but I had to install aviplay and the libavi plugin myself. I have xmms playing a lot more of the videos I download off the net then ms media player on my win2k box.
