Hello!

I have two questions:

First, is it possible to install SuSE 7.1 from ftp with YaST2? After the network information have been typed in it starts only YaST. YaST is a nice configure tool but for installing I would rather use YaST2.

Second, due to the problem above, is there a non official cdimage (not evaluation)
from a reasonable trustworthy sorce somewhere? Please do not ask me to buy a boxed set, I would rather use my money on something else...

Thanx!

i think it depends on the image file that you downloaded. if you look at the manual from suse website, it will tell you the one you should download.

There are two boot disks, two modules disks and one rescue disk. None of the boot or modules disks starts YaST2 (Dont even tries). Is it even possible to run YaST2 when installing from ftp???

Thanks for the reply by the way!

Hi

I installed SuSE 7.1 from the files I downloaded off ftp.suse.com and the installation manual clearly stated that yast was to be used for that kind of operation. If this applies to the install from FTP I don't know, just suggesting that the same very manual may contain a definite answer to your question...

Hope this helps
