Hello again,

I seem to be having a 'few' problems getting my cd-writer running, Redhat7.1 happily detects the scsi card and see the sevice as a standard cd-rom.

When I run cdrecord -scanbus I get the following error message:

"cdrecord: warning controller returns wrong size for CD capabilities" and
"cdrecord: warning controller returns wrong page 18 for CD capabilities page (2A)."

Any ideas ?
My writer is a JVC XR-W 2042, I'm starting to get dark thoughts about using Windows to do my burning, I need redemption.... :)

Cheers for any help

Verify all is setup correctly in /etc/cdrecord.conf first and then check in /etc/modules.conf or whatever modules file your distro uses. You may need to add the following.

options ide-cd ignore=hdb #if /dev/hdb is your CD-Writer
