Well, I'm pretty much a linux newbie, although I did at one time have Redhat 7.2 on my computer, but then I got rid of it.

Now I'm running WindowsXP, and I want to know what you guys suggest what would be the best distrobution to go with. I really want to learn about linux this time, because when I had RH on there, I didn't learn much, kinda just put it on there, looked at a few things, and took it off. I hear alot of people have been saying that Mandrake 8.2 has been giving them problems, and that's one thing I really don't want to run into right now. Any advice/comments are appreciated.

Well I guess you didnt like my reply to your other thread.. I still say go with Mandrake 8.2 Heres the other thread if you want:

Nullish, use partition magic and resize your current XP partition to leave 7 gigs free and unformatted. Then boot to Mandrake 8.2 CD and when it asks where to install, choose unformatted partition and Mandrake will pop up a nice GUI (very partition magic like) partitioning interface. Its very easy to follow, I suggest making a / partition of like 3.5GB, a /home of like 3GB, and use the remaining 500 or so for /swap. BAM, DONE!! It will set up the dual boot for you as well, Good Luck!

Sorry about that Rick, I was writing this post when you posted that one, so I never read it. I'm reading your post now though. Thanks for the feedback.
