I have never used linux before, so I'm sure this might sound like a stupid question to all you experienced linux users, but here it is.
Today I tried to install linux mandrake on my pc. I currently have windows 98 running on it, and I only have 1 hard drive. I was under the immpression you could still install linux as long as you used a completely separate partition than the partition that has windows on it. So I created a second partition for linux. I ran the install program and everything was going good until I got to the 'Disk Druid' part. I created the 'Linux Swap' partition with no problem, but when I tried to create the 'Linux Native' root partition "/", it wouldn't let me. It gives me a message that says something like: Boot file to big.(I don't remember the exact wording.)
What do I need to do? Obvioulsy I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions for a complete newbie to linux?
