I can connect to the internet via rp-pppoe. When I ping an IP address I get around a 22% packet loss, when I ping a name like google.com I get a 98% packet loss, when I ping my primary DNS server I get 100% plus some errors, and when I ping the secondary DNS I get around 33% packet loss. What could be causing this problem? I can connect fine using my win2k machine. It's the one I am using to type this. So I don't think there is a problem with my ISP. If this helps I am using RH 7.1

what level did you set the firewall at when you went through the adsl-setup. I know i had trouble connecting to the internet if i didn't have this set to 0. do you get any error messages like host unknown or connection timed out? these would be helpful

I set the firewall up as none or 0. When I ping my primary DNS it says Destination Host Unreachable. For all the others it doesn't say anything but what it normally does.

It says that I am connected and I do get some replies back

you might want to double check your dns addresses to make sure they are correct. theyare located in /etc/resolv.conf the contents of the folder should be something like this
nameserver (dns address)
also might want to call your ip provider for your dns address.

I checked my resolv.conf file and everything seems fine. It says nameserver 155.201.0.38 and that's what my ISP gave me as the primary DNS server and it has the secondary DNS the same way.
