RPM in Debian?

Can RPMs be installed in Debian? :confused:

Yes, but you will need the package alien for it. As far as I know, you can just type:

$alien foo.rpm

to convert an rpm to a deb once alien is installed.

Alien has actually worked pretty well for me.

RPMs that you convert to DEBs with Alien won't have the advanced dependencies or other features that DEBs have, but they'll work.

Usually, though, you can find a DEB if you know where to look.
