Gaccm

Well, after taking with my friend who things slackware is bloating, i've tried doing source debs. (apt-get source --compile <package> ). The only problem is there is NO tracking at all. So if i want to compile and install as a .deb the next version of gcc, well, then apt-get will always tell me there is a newer version (the standard binary .deb of the same version). Is there anyway to do tracking? cause i would like if i could solwly turn all my debs into source compiles so my system is .1% faster.
