Nvidia audio device

I am fairly new at linux but needed a bit of help. I need to either force a redetection of my hardware or get the system to use the specific piece of hardware it is no longer using.
Details
Fedora 12
Nvidia chipset/audio controller
modprobe details of device "nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio"
tried installing kudzu but it does not install....
help ?
