compiling avi xmms

When running ./configure for avi xmms it wanted glib 1.2xx installed I complied by installing the .deb. Now it cant' find the glib-config script supposedly created by the install and neither can I. Can I make this file somehow to make avi xmms happy?

Nope sir, can't create it yourself insted try to find it on your sytem usually found under /usr/bin (maybe it's not in your path?) or reinstall glib.Hope this helps.
