Blast Email

I'm considering creating a type of website where users can configure email to be sent to themselves daily at a specified time. I'm guessing the best way to do this would be to store this information in a database. Then maybe write a perl script to run on a cron job every hour or so?

Does anyone have a suggestion or links to resources on blast emailing?

This could be massively abused for spam unless you find a way to authenticate people and make sure they only send to themselves. Could be tough. You could find yourself on rbls mighty quickly.
