Anyone use HP Deskjet 400 ?

Hello All,
Since using linux i cannot print everything. When trying to print, all printed out is only very simple string, usually only one line. Anyone can help me solving that problem ?

I remember I had this problem on a Redhat 7 box once. As root type "printtool" at the terminal. Somwhere in the printer config you can select the printer in question and go into properties. In one of the forthcoming windows there are some very foreign options that can be checked and unchecked. Either way, when you check or uncheck one of those boxes your problem will be solved.

I think you can get there from typing "control-panel" as well. By the way, I am running Mandrake 7.2 now with the same deskjet400 and it installed flawlessly.

I hope this will help a little bit, maybe someone else can fill in the blanks.

What distro are you running? Some distros might not include the "printtool" command. If it's not included, we can probably direct you to places where you can get it depending on your distro.
