I've installed Absolute linux, a Slackware based distro, to a Compaq Armada 1750 notebook (PII 300, 192Mb). I need to get a PC card ethernet adapter installed in it. I have a choice of an SMC8035TX or a Surecom EP-427X. Googling brings up mention of "axnet_cs" for the Surecom, and "tulip_cb.o" for the SMC. But I know getting one of them installed means some command line, so I need a lot of help.
The version of Absolute is 12.1 with kernel 2.6.24.5. The Absolute Forums won't take Gmail, so I came here.
