distributed batch scheduler?

Im looking for something along the lines of a OSS distributed batch scheduler, only I'm thinking there are better terms/phrases for this because I cant seem to dig up much info.

Condor looks interesting, but somewhere I read that it cant handle jobs that spawn multiple processes. Besides from Sun's Grid Engine thats all I could dig up.

Any other ideas/advice?

I think I might want something along the lines of Apple's XGrid now that I look at it, if that helps or means anything to anyone

We've been using Condor here at FIU for a couple years now. The OpenScience Grid (OSG) encourages its members to use it, too.
