This is getting the best of me. I ended up having to reinstall last night and hoped this was going to be resolved but it wasn't. I have searched here and found out that there is a plugin for this. So I went to xmms.org and found something called XMMS Standard but I can't figure out what to d/l. If anyone who has done this can tell me how I would be most grateful.

Thanks,
Mis

GOT IT FIXED !!!!!

In reading about every hit from a google search I found that I needed to pass paramaters when loading the module. So in case anyone else runs into this.

I am using a ESS1868 soundcard that is soundblaster compatible. This is how I got the mp3's to play correctly.

modprobe sb dma=1 dma16=3 irq=5 io=0x220
