Whenever I click on a link (from Kmail or elsewhere) Konqueror pops up. Opera is running 24/7/365 on my box and I would like to open the link in Opera instead.
How would I go about setting up Opera to handle all the URL links by default in KDE?
I run RH7.2 with KDE2.2.1 and Opera 5.05
Thanks for your time.

Thats kind of a tough one. I had wanted the same thing at one time but part of the problem what I got it to open with opera but it also opened up in a kbrowser/filemanager.
One way to get it to work is if under kde right click a *.html file There should be an "open with" button click that.
Then click the other button. It should open another with window with an advance tab click that.
From there it will show you the list of software it uses to open *.html files add opera. Typing opera as the open with or maybe it's execute with should be good enough.
It will put it on the list but on the bottom. You will need to move it to the top.
With this you may still have it opening twice. Once in opera and the other within a kbrowser/filemanager window.
This can be fixed by removing kbrowser from the list in two places there and (now I forgot) but its within the same window and is the one that opens it up within filemanager. The problem with removing it completely getting it back to opening with kbrowser was a pain. I would suggest writing the exact programs and links you remove.

Open control center. In there go File Browsing -> File Assosiations. Then in known types choose open the text and in there you have html. Then you get application preference order, in which you add your browaser and move it to top.
Tested it at least in konqueror, where using "middle" button it opened it to other browser.
