Just an FYI, and something for Google to index on this subject, the SMP client for Folding on Linux requires the -smp switch when you start it or it will run only a single instance and use one core. I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere, but it wasn't in any of the places that I looked (particularly the FAQ where it seems to me it should be mentioned). In fact the only reason I ever figured it out was that their forums mention that it should not be used to run the uniprocessor version.:)

Anyway, hopefully someone else hitting up Google to figure out why their SMP client isn't running SMP will be able to find this and get it working.

Also, I noticed that it's only using about 2/3 of my processing power even in SMP mode. Might have to take a trip over to their forums about that.

Look in the FAQ. I just discovered this and got mine working. I had some posts about it over in the "I just folded my first protein" thread. I need to do an update post over there tonight.

Wow, how did I miss that? I must have visited the FAQ half a dozen times. Oh well. Nothing to see here, move along.:)
