Hey everyone. I am having a bit of trouble. Currently I am running RH7. I have a Win32 server running in one room connected to an ISDN line. It is running Wingate (proxy software for windows). Anyways. Getting Netscape set up to use that was a breeze, and then I got lynx to use it to, after editing the config file /etc/lynx.cfg... But I wondering. Is there an easier way to get software to just KNOW that I am connection through a proxy? Is there no global declaration of some sort to tell all programs how to connect to the internet? Come on.. Linux is supposed to rock at network stuff...
If not, can someone tell me how to set up Licq to use the proxy... But that seems like such a limited way to configure your system... Config file by config file... Why not be like Win and just have the settings in one place and then all the programs know how to use it?! BLAH!! Anyways.. Thanks for listening to me grumble...
