OK, before I tear into my system for a major hardwear upgrade, what and how do save from Mandrake 10.1 just in case? I have most of my files burned to CD's. I already have Gutsy Gibbon on another disk.

I was really thinking of a way to get Mandrake going again if I had to.

you could take an image of the system with http://www.mondorescue.org/ to cd or dvd then recover quite easily.

OK, I have mondo and mindi saved to my hard drive. Now what? There is a good reason why I am posting to the newbies corner.

now you read the directions! ;)

It's been a long time since I've run it, but once installed, the menu system should work out fine for you.

Does Mandrake have a package manager?

One of the biggest problems I have had with Linux is the difficulty of finding the directions for anything.
