OK before I try to install the new mother board I am burning some of my files to CD's

Mandrake 10.1
KDE 3. 1.0
K3b
data CD
PacificDigital CD drive, 48/12/48

I am trying to copy some photos to a CD. They are saved as JPEG's, each roll of film in a different folder. I drug 7 folders into the Project View window, and clicked on Burn. The first try was on speed Auto. I got a buffer warning and suggested a slower speed. I cut it back to 16, then 4 and finally 1. I then got the error 255.

I haven't used the burner very much, but it always seemed easy. I just did a picture CD yeaterday although it was individual photos, not folders. Now I did copy some email folders to a CD last week, and it worked.

It shows 14.1 mg and I am using 700 mg discs.

Any ideas?

OK, I got it working. If I had ever used Windows more, I would have thought to try what I did instead of posting a question.

1 Shut down the system
2 Take the dog for a walk
3 Take the other dog out to eat
4 Wiggle all the cables around
5 Boot up the system

In certain Asian countries the step
3 Take the other dog out to eat
can have a different meaning, as it can be mistaken to be cuisine-related.

Yes, one Lab my family raised is working as a dog guide for a lady in just such a country. Women aren't very high status there either.
