I give up....RPM, .tgz....they all suck!
Nearly as bad as PnP.

Ya gotta do a little home work with source...but nothing compared with the work it takes to repair a system hammered a couple bad installs from "package managers"...

I've been generally happy with slackware...
If I had a stable fast connection I would do the debian thing.
