Lost sound in SuSE 10.2

Running KDE.
Everything had been running fine for months. Then, I was forced to reboot my computer, which I did safely, and when I rebooted,,,no sound.

Nothing.

Volume has not changed, just no sound in anything. Just clicks and pops. I know the card & speakers work because sound is fine in Winblows.

Tried re-installing the card in yast, no luck. Any advice?

What sound card is it? Maybe you got a kernel update and the modules aren't loading? Does your mixer show the right card? If your mixer doesn't show you card names, run 'alsamixer' from a command prompt.
