Hello,

Looking for some software or program that can be used in Linux to display web pages as a screen saver. I'm making my wife a "digital photo frame" for her birthday. Ideally it should be able to display images from pages like blogspot, framechannel, picasa, flickr. Searching on freshmeat or sourceforge recently did not have any results.

I have an old laptop (Siemens Nixdorf Scenic Mobile 710), pentium MMX with Windows 2000 installed. I found it in the trash! The PCMCIA slot does not function, and sometimes using the CD drive causes it to shut down, but I'm not worried about that (the CD drive is removable).

I've installed Debian Woody on its own partition. I'm using a Zydas USB for WLAN, I think I finally got it working. So the missing link is software. I've tried the framechannel google desktop gadget, but apparently it's not working (and I've notified the developer.) Any other suggestions?

firefox has an extension that it will loop through tabs, and a reload every option, too...if that helps.

Thanks for the tip, that is a good idea. Doesn't have to be screensaver. Will try.

Also will try Folding@home on this machine. Interesting site!
