To whom it may concern,

I have recently installed centos 5.1 on my desktop and the yum command yum install mplayer is not working. How can I install mplayer and xmms through yum? I would also like to install bittorrent client on my desktop and the yum install command for that is not working either.

Multimedia support for Red Hat products is usually for Fedora of which livna (http://rpm.livna.org/rlowiki/) is the best example. Yellow Jacket (http://www.pennywasted.info/centos/yjl.php) says they convert fedora repositories to CentOS, but I don`t know how good they are. They do have Mplayer, but I couldn`t find bittorrent.

If this is a new install, I would recommend moving to Fedora 8.

EDIT: I poked around more and they do have bittorrent.
