forgot my laptop open

yesterday I forgot my laptop open for almost 12 hours.
is that a problem ?
it just ran linux,but ran no program in particular.
how is this going to affect over-all usage?
it's not the first time I forget to close it.

as long as your hooked to shore power should be fine.

The hard disk just has an uninterrupted free spinning of 12 hours. The laptop should be able to operate if you leave it on a couple of days I would have thought.
