Soon I will have to give my laptop up to tech support for awhile (broken keyboard). How can I give them anonymous access which will let them do fundamental things (like try typing) and not let them screw important stuff up. And while I am at it, I want them to use KDE but not modify anything in it, just use. I'm already worried about my baby being  sent off, but I can't stand having a broken keyboard. plus I don't know if I'll get a monkey who doesn't know linux. thanks.

Why not just give them a dos/win bootdisk with edit.com and a text file they can load, edit and type?

If not, then just create a guest account with minimal privileges.

Personally I would go for the bootdisk as they can certainly test the keyboard using edit.
