I purchased an H-P model 4600 USB scanner. it ain't pro-grade, but it's good for general-purpose scans and I do like the see-through "viewfinder" feature which permits me to see esactly what I'm scanning.
I hooked it up to my 2.3 Ghz P-4 with 1 gig of memory and Debian Etch. I opened up Xsane. Bottom line, Xsane didn't see it. Searched for drivers for that model, which is fairly old so I thought there'd be one. H-P doesn't have one for Linux and apparently neither does anyone else.
Is there a Linux driver in the works for this model?
