Hey everyone,
Im starting to get really annoyed by the windows/super key. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Any one know what could be causing this? I need it for switching tracks in Amarok. Its just annoying having to do it with the mouse.
If it helps, Im using Fedora7 with Gnome.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Alright, this is really starting to get annoying.
I decided to start looking into this issue. I know there is a small app that reads key presses. I'm afraid I can't remember it right now. Any one know what I'm talking about? It basically just shows the system calls performed when the key gets pressed. I want to see if my system even recognizes the super key or if its just Amarok being stupid.

I got my super key working.
System --> Preferences --> Hardware --> Keyboard --> Layout Options --> Alt/Win Key Behaviour --> Super is mapped to Win Key.
If anyone actually knows what app I was referring to that shows key presses, I would still ike to know the name.

Depends on what you mean. ;)
If you want to see the X events that happen when you press a specific key (the event list will include the X key-sym), then fire up xev and give it focus, then hit the key. You'll get one key-press event with the keysym in question, and another key-release event with the same keysym.
If you aren't using X, then you probably want to see what the Linux console is doing with the key -- I believe there's a program that you can use for that too (showkeys perhaps?), but I don't remember what it is for sure.
If you're using a terminal emulator inside X, then you'll want to know the keysym first (so use xev), then you'll also want to see what showkeys says. If showkeys is wrong, then you'll want to find out whether the terminal emulator has a way to remap that keysym to another terminal-level key code.
