Linux from scratch problems

i'm trying to install GCC 2.95.2 on my linux from scratch partition, which is hdb1. hda3 is my slackware partition. i'm working from slackware. but i keep having problems. i follow the book, but it's not very clear. has anyone whose done this help me out??

I had a problem a lot like that with gcc. Try using the the other version of the book (if you are using pre, use the non pre version book). Also, they have a irc server up and you can ask questions there that get answered pretty quickly!
