When I try to use Partitian magic 6 for a 5GB Linux partitian it says something like FAT32 allocation now allowed, or something similar, under WinME, also if I want to make one for beos, which do I select? all they list is linux, os/2 and windows, etc

Do you have he exact message? I know that WinME does not have the dos support that prior versions did. PM cannot drop into dos mode when required to do it's stuff. Have you created the PM Rescue Disks (bootable) and tried to use them?

Doesn't Beos use the ext2 filesystem? If not, then try creating enough free space for the Beos installation and use the Beos partitioning tools to allocate the free space and format.
