Sure can. Use GRUB, it will over write your master boot record on the XP drive, and give a menu of booting Linux or XP

The answer is yes.
Can I draw your attention to this thread (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130715) in general and its Section A in particular?
Once you have a Linux disk running and booting too then adding more distros is a piece of cake. If you don't believe me read this (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134658). The proof is here (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147959).
You will also be exposed to all possibilities in Linux and discover booting is a child play the moment you are not using a MS system.
As you have two disks Linux can keep your Windoze and its MBR untouched like a virgin.
