Redhat v7.2. on-board sound card supports sb16, wss, & joystick. I used sndconfig to set sb16. I can play mp3 and rm files, but can't play audio CD (it plays with no sound).

Both cables are connected. moadib 01-02-2002, 06:29 PM this worked for me. be root and type in depmod -ae. as soon as i did this the cd started playing. justlinux.com
