Hi,

I have just installed Ubuntu to my laptop HP dv 2000 (actuall I am using dual boot Vista and Ubuntu). However, I am quite new for Ubuntu and I have spent much time for setting a wireless connection in Ubuntu. However, it was not successful :( .

Can anyone help me how to do it, and if possible, please give me detailed instruction since I am a new for Linux environment.

Thank you in advance.

We're going to need more information than just "I tried to set up wireless but it didn't work."
We need the name of the chipset your wireless card, and an explicit description of what you tried and what errors you recieved.
Any links to tutorials you've tried would be good too...

Hi Je_fro
Thank you for your fast reply. For your information, I have bought a laptop for 4 months.

It is HP dv 2000, AMD Turron 64x2 (ACPIx86 based PC). For network adapter, it uses Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN and NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.

After finishing installation of Ubuntu, I went to Admin> System> Network> Wireless and provide them data from my home internet router. However, when I tried firefox for google (or other), it did not work.

One more thing is that there no item ask me to input my internet password?

Hope you can help.

Thank.
