I do not know if the link above for the nice pictures had anything to do with this but I downloaded one of the pictures for wallpaper. I do not think I downloaded anything else but when I later rebooted my XP it failed to reboot. I got the bios splash screen but nothing more. Finally I went into the bios and and set the defaults which allowed me to boot into XP. I am back up and running.

Oh man... you should never download and install any screensavers, or wallpapers, or smilie icons, etc.. when running a Windows product.
