Ok, down to the point, I downloaded the ISO's , burned them fine, and now I goto install Mandrake, and everything is great until it comes to copying the files. It freezes into the installation. I retried under text mode, and found out what file it was freezing at, so I just redid the installation once again and removed that file to install....then it froze at another file, so no problem, I removed that one too, but this happened for more files, and now I'm just getting totally pissed. Heres the list of the selections I've already found to freeze. When my dad comes home, I'll re burn the first CD, to make sure its not the cd-
sox
perl
rep-gtk-gnome
eel
libimlib1
libgtk+1.2

Any help that would allow me to install Mandrake would be very appreciated.
Thanks for at least reading my post.
I am a newb :(

i'd say (if you have a fast connection) to redownload the images and burn them again...

maybe try burning them slower, too (less chance for jacked up data)

Shouting and screaming one hour after your initial post won't get you far!

However, have you disabled PnP OS in the BIOS, and also disabled UDMA/DMA for the harddrive(s) in BIOS? Not doing that may cause the problems you are getting.

Cheers :)

Are you saying to make sure that PnP is enabled and that UDMA/DMA is enabled? Sorry for shouting, I'm just home sick, and i really feel like crap, and wanna get Linux working. Thanks for the help.

He man, thanks so much, I turned off the PnP thing in my Bios, and it works, my only problem now is I lost windows, cuase it wouldn't let me make a boot disk, and I did what it recommended and it went into my boot record and messed it up, but I just said screw it, reinstalled Linux onto my primary hard drive, and hope that i don't regret losing windows now... Looks like I got alot of learning to do, I gotta fix this thing up, even as I type its a bit...sluggish....
