when you have your blackbox menu, you see the submenu "session", and in "session", you see "windowmanager"
if you click on "sawfish", you use sawfish as wm. now, i can't have my blackbox menu anymore, i don't have the panel,... is there any possibility to edit my wm again, though in a config file?
please help if you can!

maybe edit ~/.xinitrc to start black box?

OK - firstly, which distro are you using? I ask because Mandrake has its own menu program. Secondly, which menu? Are we talking the menu within the Sawfish WM, or before you log in, at the gdm login screen?

(The above answer is kinda right, but this won't work if you use a graphical login. You would have to exit graphical login mode, and then startx under your username to get it to read your ~/.xinitrc file)

in my .xinitrc file, there's nothing exept the location of windowmaker ($home/.xinitrc)
i'm using linux-mandrake8.0
i was in blackbox, with blackbox as my wm, when i accidentally clicked on "sawfish", so currently, i'm using blackbox with sawfish as wm. i have a gui to login, though i suppose that i can edit that .xinitrc file from a normal text editor and then just re-login.. no?

If you're using a graphical login you should be able to select which windowmanager you boot into with Mandrake. (It should be there unless you compiled blackbox from source rather than using a mandrake rpm). Alternatively you could check out the Sawfish menu file (sorry, no idea's where it is) and find out what command it uses to restart with a new window manager, and then just add the restart with blackbox command into the default menu.

Sorry, that doesn't sound very helpful. I have to admit that I have been trying to add blackbox to my session window in gdm under Mandrake, and for some reason it seems to default to IceWM manager instead?!?

Let me know if my drivel works ;)

i think you misunderstood my problem, or i don't understand what my problem really is, which might be possible with me ;)
i see bb on my GUIlogon, currently, i'm in bb. the problem is that i'm using sawfish as windowmanager for my bb, which means that i can't have my bb-menu anymore when i rightclick, my panel is gone too. i'd like to disable sawfish from being my bb windowmanager.

i hope this explanation is more understandable
