Hello all.

I am trying to break away from Windows and I'm having some problems burning the distro.I am trying to burn Ubuntu to cd but when i boot up i can't install so i reboot and check disk for errors.I have tried this 5 times and i'm losing hope.

First off i followed Ubuntu's way of burning using Infra Recorder after md5 checking but no luck there. Then i moved on to Nero and still no Linux. So I'm up for suggestions on how to proceed. Thanks for the help.

P.S. Windows XP

you are "exploding" that CD image iso to cd, correct? Not just copying the iso file to cd?

When you say you "can't install"? what do you mean? It should at least boot on the LiveCD portion of the CD, prior to installing.

Is your BIOS set to "boot from cd"?

when you look at the cd in windows, do you see a bunch of files, or somefile.iso?
you should be seeing a bunch of files....burn it as a bootable cd image.

Thank you all for your time.

Yes my pc is set to boot from cd.It is also an iso and i'm burning the image to cd.

When i get in the installation process i get error that doesn't allow me to install.

I don't understand what you mean by "exploding".I don't know how to get the live cd it never came up while i was messing around.

Once again thank you for your time.

What do you mean by "When i get in the installation process i get error that doesn't allow me to install."

Please post the error messages.

Please post the error message, that would help to understand the problem.

When exactly it is giving error? Is it midway during installation or it is throwing error during the booting itself.

The error message pops up in the middle of the installation process.

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk.

It seems like you've got a corrupted download.
