Kernel Panics with IBM Cam

I just got an IBM Cam but when I try to use it with xawtv and webcam the kernel panics... I have built the driver as a module and built in but both ways it panics... Can someone help me with this... I'm using kernel 2.4.14

what's the driver or model of cam?

In order for ibmcam.o to load I have to load usbvideo.o before ibmcam.o but I also have ultravideo.o in the modules dir... I have tired different combos but they all panic the kernel
