Tonight i experienced a strange problem. while i was on my desktop computer it just shut off . I then could not boot it . no BIOS menu nothing. I could hear POST system beeps and thats when i began to problem solve.
i did the usual problem solving. i took out each memory stick to test to make sure that was ok. it was still beeping. So i then unhooked everything took out all the PCI cards and still problem. So i decided to swap out the PSU and then no more beeping sounds....... my PSU died.
I thought it was either PSU or MOBO or CPU . i am glad it was just a dead psu and i had a extra one lying around. now my desktop is back and working again.
i just wanted to share that with everyone that sometimes computers can really suck. i am glad my gnu gentoo box is back and up.
