Hi folks,

Slackware-11.0

I'm running a USB/PS2 mouse. It only works on PS2 port. If plugged on USB ports it can't be detected at boot. The mouse has no problem. It works on another Linux on USB port.

The USB ports on this PC also work without problem, 4 on motherboard and 2, as extended, connected to the front-side of the case. USB stick/thumb drive work on all ports. It can be mounted and its content can be read.

Please advise how to check and rectify this problem. TIA

I would study the setting of the mouse in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf of the Linux inwhich the mouse works and implement that setting in SLackware 11. Not always work but should give a close match.

I think there is a mouse testing routine in the Slackware installation CD that is certainly worth to look into too.
