ldap error: strong authentication required

Hi,

I'm getting this error when connecting to LDAP server remotely

ldap error: strong authentication required
but every thing seem to be fine from the shell
"using simple authentication"
ldap configuration is pretty simple "just very basic"
Is there any SASL/GSSAPI configuration required?

I would appreciate any hint
