unable to connect to any wireless network

I tried connecting to my wireless network like normal today, but was unable. I ran dmesg and looked through and found the following listed repeatedly.

what does this mean and how can I get my wireless up again? I cleared the log and tried to connect again and sent the output of dmesg to a file if you need more info.

so it was working and something changed, as always what changed? if kernel was upgraded or something you probably need to reinstall the firmware for the new kernel

oh one more thing. I was working wirelessly last night before I went to sleep. When I turned my laptop back on today, the wireless had stopped working. I hadn't done anything to the kernel during that time and had rebooted several times since I last upgraded my kernel. I've also tried booting into my previous kernel and had the same problem.

problem solved. Somehow my ndiswrapper module was being loaded and messing up bcm43xx. I had previously blacklisted ndiswrapper so modprobe wouldn't load it, but it got unblacklisted somehow. After uninstalling it and messing with the network devices and several reboots later, everything is fine again.

ok, one last thing. I won't bother to open a new thread for this, but I can quickly and easily connect to wep and wpa encrypted networks, but I can't get connected to unencrypted ones anymore. I've been using knetworkmanager to configure and activate the connections.

check your syslog files, knetworkmanager should be reporting to dbus/hal which should be syslogged

looks like it all revolves around the terrible bcm43xx firmwares, this is what happens when companies dont allow open source participation, turns their probably good hardware into total garbage

you were on ubuntu right? one thing you can try would be getting a newer kernel image from their next release fiesty, which would have updated version of the native driver that might be a bit more stable

nah, I use FC6. Im thinking of trying ndiswrapper again, since it randomly started loading the module again.
