I am ISO to CD challanged. I just read roughly a dozen older posts describing how to burn an ISO file to CD, and I still can't make it work. I tried using the "Burn from CD" option in EasyCD Creator, and "Burn CD Image" in Nero. In EasyCD Creator, I can navigate to the ISO file, but when I highlight it an click open, EasyCD just ignores it and returns to the DataCD view with nothing selected to copy. If I just browse in Windows Explorer to the ISO file, for which the extension is associated with EasyCD, and double click on it, I get an error message that it is not a valid ISO file. Any other method in EasyCD Creator just results in an ISO file on a CD (great for beverages).

In Nero, if I choose the recommended settings for burning an image, the CD appears to burn successfully, but still can't be read, or I just have a *.iso file on it.

So now I'm wondering if I have a bad download of the image, or if I mangled it somehow trying to unzip a *.gz with WinZip. Life would be easier if I had a CD burner at home where the Linux box is, or a Linux box at work where the CD burner is, but neither of those scenarios is going to happen any time soon.

So now I'm re-downloading the *.iso.gz file in question, but in the meantime, if anyone has any more suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

Doh!!

It's like voodoo...

The minute I post a question on LNO, the problem gets fixed. It was a bad download of the ISO image. New download and all is well. Sorry for the premature post/whine. Now to go play with four new shiny mini-frisbees.
