Tried for days no success yet  very new to computers figured why start out on windows so i installed Debian. dkeav 11-07-2006, 02:42 PM have you tried linuxprinting.org yet? rm whoami 11-07-2006, 04:24 PM Yes, its listed as paperweight. Im trying to use CUPS and a source from avasys but i think i need someting called WINE. Im looking into this now, Thank you, any help is always appreciated. dkeav 11-07-2006, 04:27 PM uhh no, you dont need wine, just download the ppd file that linuxprinting.org suggests for that model and follow the cups tips they suggest there rm whoami 11-07-2006, 07:06 PM linuxprinting.org is a great site! I read all the info on how set up the printer once i have the PPD. Problem is i have looked on linuxprinting.org for the PPD, epson, the install CD and through out the web for CX11NF and have found nothing. Can i use an older version or are these PPDs modle specific? Perhaps im am just missing it and dont know rm whoami 11-07-2006, 07:19 PM Im thinking i can use Foomatic, i've been reading about it but most of the discripton is beyond my knowldge of computers, seems as though i would still need a postscript printer discription, am i on the right track? dkeav 11-07-2006, 07:34 PM im thinking thats either a very new printer, or you have your model number wrong, if its a usb printer check lsusb output try to see what the kernel recognizes it as rm whoami 11-08-2006, 12:05 PM Yes its one of Epsons new ones, its a network printer. I called Epson but they were less than helpful. I puchased it before i knew much about Linux or computers for that matter. dkeav 11-08-2006, 12:31 PM safe bet for printers, if its HP it probably works and is supported rm whoami 11-08-2006, 01:09 PM ok thanks for all the help, at least im learning so there is always a Plus! justlinux.com
